Privacy planting, lighting and irrigation

The property overlooked neighbours on two sides and had almost nothing at height to do anything about it. Rather than a fence, the answer was planting: evergreen screening at a size that reads immediately, layered in front with grasses and seasonal colour so it is a garden rather than a green wall.

Uplighting was set into the beds to pick out the trunks and the structural planting, which is what stops a garden from disappearing at five o clock in December.

A new irrigation system went in at the same time, zoned to the planting rather than run as one blanket circuit, so establishment is not left to whoever remembers the hose.
